What we eat has a large effect on our brain and memory. Good nutrition is vital for everyone’s brain. Here is a list of top 8 brain food.


1) Turmeric

Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, can directly enter the brain and benefit the cells. It helps in improving memory, reduces depression by improving the mood. It also helps new brain cells grow.


2) Fatty Fish & Avocados

Avocados and fish like salmon, trout,  sardines, and are all rich sources of omega-3 fatty acids which are important to build brain and nerve cells. It improves learning and memory.

Having baked or broiled fish regularly increases gray matter in the brain. Gray matter contains most of the nerve cells that control decision making, memory and emotion.


3) Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate and cocoa powder contains brain-boosting compounds, including flavonoids, caffeine and antioxidants.


4) Nuts like almonds, walnuts, cashews etc.

The nutrients in nuts, such as healthy fats, antioxidants and vitamin E are responsible for brain-health benefits


5) Vitamin C found in dark green leafy vegetables, cauliflower, Oranges, strawberries, Papayas etc.
